Stopover in Buenos Aires

My latin American travel began with a long-haul flight to Argentina. Delayed for 5 hours of course, you can’t ever expect to fly on time. Unfortunately, this meant my boyfriend Peter and I missed our connecting flight to Brazil.

Our delay did not turn out to be as bad as expected though, as Aerolineas Argentinas decided to pay for our accomodation in a nice hotel in town, provide free dinner at 11pm when we finally got there, and provide transfers from the airport and back.

After the flight, all we really needed was a nice cold beer but our hotel staff had other plans. Our dinner was a set menu and we were kindly informed by the waiter that our beverage options were water, juice, or coca-cola. These were served in wine jugs to make up for the lack of alcohol content. A bacon omelette, a plate of ravioli and then a bowl of icecream were gracefully dumped infront of us. Sucks for anyone with special dietary requirements…amused by our dinner experience we retired to the single bed that was kindly provided for us.

Despite my complaining, I must admit it was actually a very nice hotel, and we had a good three hours sleep before we headed back to the airport at 4 am to catch our new connecting flight.

Until next Time,
Erika xx

I'm Erika - based in Auckland, New Zealand but am very much a nomad at heart. Adult life happened so I can no longer just pack up and leave but through scrimping and saving, coercing my husband (and now my kids!) to join me in my adventures and pleading with work to give me time off I manage to do do some of the travel I want to do while leading a 9-5 life. I want to share my love of travel and crazy adventures with you as I explore the world. If you enjoy my writing, let me know! Erika xx
